Apprentice jockey Nicardo Carr celebrated his second career win on Saturday, October 25, 2025, aboard
Irish Wish, a four-year-old chestnut colt, in the fifth race of the 10-race card.

Trained by Anthony “Baba” Nunes, Irish Wish easily obliged as the favourite in the $790,000 three-year-old and upward Optional Claiming ($500,000-$400,000) event that included native-bred six-year-olds and upward (non-winners of four) and imported six-year-olds and upward (non-winners of three) over 5 furlongs (1,000m) straight.

Irish Wish broke off well at the start of the race and settled in a comfortable position behind the early pace-setters,
Tapit Good (Shaheem Gordon), Little Grovy Thing (Demar Williams), and Curlin’s Flight (Richie Shakes).

As the field transitioned onto the main track, Irish Wish found his stride and launched a challenge for the lead against
Tapit Good. Gaining momentum, Irish Wish powered clear to score a convincing 5 ¾ length victory over Tapit Good and Bugatti (Phillip Parchment).

The winning time was 1:00.1 (23.4 x 47.0).
