Former champions Cornwall College came from a goal down to beat Manchester High 4-2 on penalty kicks to advance to Thursday’s semi-finals of the ISSA Ben Francis Cup in their quarter-final game played in Montego Bay on Tuesday.

Cornwall went behind early in the second but rallied to draw level before winning on penalty kicks as goalkeeper Carlyle Tinglin saved Manchester High’s first two kicks and will be joined by former champions Clarendon College and McGrath High along with Manning’s School, who were also winners.

Clarendon College, last season’s finalists, clipped Garvey Maceo High 1-0, McGrath High snapped a four-game run without scoring to beat Ocho Rios High 4-1 while Manning’s edged Christiana 2-1.

In Thursday’s games, Cornwall will face McGrath for the second time this season while Clarendon will meet Manning’s for the right to play in Saturday’s final at the National Stadium.

Manchester, who beat William Knibb 5-0 in the first round last week, took the lead in the 54th minute when Michael Reid scored from the penalty spot after Tinglin was adjudged to have fouled Troydian Flemmings inside the 18 yards box.

Cornwall took over the game, pushing Manchester back into their own defensive third and got the equaliser in the 72nd minute when Mekhi Foster headed a corner powerfully past goalkeeper Jahleijah Ward.

In the shoot-out, Cornwall scored all four kicks taken by Deshaun Talbert, Kayvon Donaldson, Carlondo Morris, and Lebron Malcolm.

Tinglin saved shots from Brandon Brown and Conrad Messam while Samuel Smith and Deante Walker scored.

At Ewarton Sports Complex, Romario Williams scored twice, while Jimm Mitchell and Isaac Mason got one each for McGrath as they stayed on course to win a second Ben Francis Cup in three years.

At Manchester High, Manning’s, with goals from Jordan Turner and Kajaye Williams, ended Christiana High’s season.

Tuesday’s results

Clarendon College 1, Garvey Maceo 0

McGrath High 4, Ocho Rio 1

Cornwall College 1 (4), Manchester High 1 (2)
