World Athletics president Sebastien Coe has arrived in Jamaica ahead of several days of high profile meetings with key stakeholders in the island.

After spending some time in the Turks and Caicos Islands, Coe landed at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston late Sunday night and was greeted by Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) president Garth Gayle.

Britain’s double Olympic champion in the 1500m is expected to meet Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Sports Minister Olivia Grange on Monday following a breakfast meeting with JAAA executives.

He’s also set to visit on Tuesday the Montego Bay Sports Complex whose track has been out of use for six years and underwent further damage in October due to Hurricane Melissa.

It’s Coe’s second visit to the island in just under four years after attending the 2022 Carifta Games in Kingston.
