Last Friday’s tribute concert honouring the late Stephen ‘Cat’ Coore proved that free admission does not mean second-rate.
Organised by the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the event unfolded like a one-night reggae festival, drawing visitors and devoted local fans alike. From traditional drumming to youth performances, the Alpha School of Music, and stirring sets by Wayne Marshall, Maxi Priest, Gramps Morgan and Tarrus Riley, the night balanced reverence with celebration. The New Third World closed with an electrifying set, joined by Damian and Stephen Marley, leaving the audience united in music, memory and gratitude well past midnight.
