Dancehall artistes AceGawd and Shawn Storm have joined forces to release a collaboration titled ‘ Burn Metal’.
Released earlier this month, AceGawd said that the track is merely about self-defence.
“Is not a song about badness but more about defending yourself and your loved ones, if and when it comes to that time. The music video maddd same way and the streets like it, and, once yuh get the street approval, den yuh know it’s a next banger,” he said.
Produced by Sophie B Records, AceGawd said he and his team brainstormed for a while about who would be an ideal collaborator, and they all agreed on Shawn Storm.
“My manager and wife Sophydel wanted me to do a collaboration because I really don’t have a lot of that, so we sat and discussed it and we think Shawn Storm would be a good pick. So we link up and go in the studio and the song just create,” AceGawd said.
“It is just a great vibe, as both of us are really talented deejays. Shawn Storm really put his all into this one and it can be heard in the lyrics. It has a lot of lyrics and the fans dem just love the movement,” the entertainer added.
AceGawd, given name Sadeki McLarthy, got his breakthrough hit in late 2018, via the single Mark X & Axio. He later released a number of other tracks, such as Up Gee, Sad Truth, and Paint Me.
Known for his loyalty to the Vybz Kartel-led Gaza camp, Shawn Storm is gaining momentum with singles such as Revelation and Holster (Itch Scratch).
As the duo continue to promote Burn Metal, they are also gearing up for upcoming performances in Guyana, Suriname, Belize, as well as sections of Africa and Europe.
