After a four-year hiatus, recording artiste Press Kay has re-emerged with a fresh new sound that signals growth, intention, and undeniable artistry.
She dropped The Spot on Friday, a song she said will hit different because it is both personal and universally relatable.
Produced by platinum-selling hit maker Robert Livingston, the song carries a polished yet soulful vibe that perfectly complements Press Kay’s signature sound.
As Press Kay explained to THE STAR, The Spot is more than just a song, it’s an experience that was built on themes of love, presence, and emotional connection.
“It’s emotionally charged for sure and was made for lovers and anyone who believes in real love,” she said.
“I am honoured to finally work with Robert as he managed legends like Super Cat and Shaggy, and his work ethic is second to none. For the past two years we have been talking about him producing one of the songs on my upcoming EP, and look at God, it happened organically.”
Known for her ability to effortlessly navigate different musical lanes, Press Kay has never been one to box herself in. From high-energy dancehall tracks like Come for the Knockas, featuring Charly Black, Good Gyal, and Title featuring Chronic Law, to introspective moments like Destiny, her artistry has always reflected a dynamic creative spirit.
With The Spot, she leans fully into vulnerability, intimacy, and connection delivering. Now, she returns not just as an artiste, but as a more evolved storyteller.
“I went to the studio for a meeting where the beat was playing, and I told Robert I found a hook. He said let’s hear it and he loved it, and immediately he said ‘let’s record her now.’ After the recording, we played it back, and I said, ‘Wow this is catchy. They’re gonna love it!'”
