Dancehall artiste Brownskin Rae is making a bold statement with her latest single, Taking Over, a track that has been generating strong feedback and positioning her as one to watch on the local scene.
According to the rising entertainer, the response to the song has been overwhelmingly positive.
“The song has been doing very well and I’m getting a lot of great feedback,” she said, noting that fans have been connecting with both the energy and message of the track. The buzz surrounding Taking Over comes on the heels of her appearance at the recently concluded International Music Conference, where she not only performed but also hosted a panel discussion. The experience, she said, played a key role in strengthening her confidence and visibility within the industry.
“The experience was really empowering. It’s great to see what other artistes are working on and to interact with people who genuinely love the industry in an open forum,” Brownskin Rae explained.
With momentum building, the artiste is now focused on completing a summer EP, revealing that several producers have already reached out with potential tracks.
“A lot of the beats are really good, so it’s just about selecting the right ones for the project,” she said.
Adding to her growing list of achievements, Brownskin Rae has also been recognised for her songwriting abilities and is now being approached to write for other artistes.
“I feel honoured that people are recognising my penmanship, and I’m open to writing for others,” she said.
