Campion College continued their great form this season in the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) urban basketball, with their under-19 team destroying Bridgeport 141-10 in the competition last Saturday.
Campion, who were getting past the century mark for the second straight game, were led to victory by an outstanding performance from Zachary Lawrence, who poured in 68 points. He also pulled down 28 rebounds and had 24 steals in a superb all-round display.
In another under-19 game played on Saturday, Camperdown High made it back-to-back wins after stopping their eastern Kingston neighbours Vauxhall High 78-24. Heri Leconte and Kemani Halliday both scored 21 points for Camperdown.
There was also action on Saturday in the rural competition, with Herbert Morrison Technical leading the way with victories in both the under-19 and under-16 sections. Their under-19 team turned back York Castle 96-22, while the under-16s registered two wins — first getting by Muschett High 86-7, before taking care of Holland High 86-15.
In the under-16 competition, York Castle High got past Muschett 49–15.
