Close to 500 Curacao football fans are expected to descend on the National Stadium in Kingston on Tuesday to watch their ‘Blue Stars’ square off against Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz for a place in the 2026 World Cup.
Observer Online understands that two charter flights with fans, at US$1,000 per passenger, are expected to arrive in the island for Tuesday’s game.
Curacao lead the qualification group on 11 points, ahead of Jamaica on 10 points. They need only a draw to become the smallest country to qualify for the World Cup which takes place in 2026 in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The ‘Blue Stars’ beat the Reggae Boyz 2-0 when the teams met last month in Curacao.
