The stage is set for a spectacular finale to Magnum Dancehall Week. The 2026 edition kicked off with a bang as the Magnum Hype Crew took over Uptown Mondays, launching a week-long celebration of the music, style, and spirit of dancehall.
Cultural heavyweights like Dansa Bling, Shelly Belly, and Stone Love’s Fada Wee Pow were out in full support, setting the perfect tone for a launch that honoured dancehall’s rich heritage.
One of the night’s standout highlights was a showcase of iconic dance moves spanning the ’90s into the 2000s — from Bogle-inspired steps to the Willy Bounce — with veteran dancers like Colo Colo taking centre stage and receiving thunderous applause.
The evening proved that while dancehall continues to evolve, its roots remain deeply cherished. What began as a measured warm-up ended as a cultural tour de force, perfectly setting the stage for a week of music, movement, and unmatched energy.
Now in its third edition, Magnum Dancehall Week kicked off on February 22 and runs through to Sunday, March 1. This Friday, all roads lead to FRi~NALLY on Hope Road in St Andrew, building anticipation for the grand dancehall road march on Sunday. Participants will gather at 4 p.m. at Mandela Park in Half-Way Tree, with the Street Parade set to kick off at 6 p.m., following a designated route from Half-Way Tree Road to Cross Roads and concluding at DLux Restaurant (formerly the Gee Wee Parking Lot) on Caledonia Avenue.
