A decision on the resumption of schoolboy football is expected to made later Fridat following an emergency meeting by the Inter Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA).
The Jamaica Observer understands that Friday afternoon’s meeting will involve ISSA’s executive body, led by president Keith Wellington.
The Manning Cup and DaCosta Cup competitions, both at the round of 16 stage, have been on hold since October 24 due to the impact of Hurricane Melissa.
The under-16 and under-14 competitions, which should have started at the end of October, have yet to kick off.
Although the eastern end of the island was less affected, the Observer understands that there is a hesitation to only play the urban area competitions due to a number of reasons.
All competitions are likely to be completed in January instead of the traditional December date.
