Producer Lando Genius, through his Lando Genius Records imprint, has joined forces with Gutty Bling Music and Ques Media to produce the song So Phenomenal by Skillibeng.
The song, which was released a few weeks ago, has been receiving significant airplay locally. Based on the buzz created by it, Lando Genius is confident that the song has the potential to make an impact globally.
“Gutty Bling was moving forward with his new label, and Skillibeng was the perfect artiste he had in mind. Knowing the chemistry they had, having worked on several occasions before, Gutty and I were discussing music in general, and he decided to bring me on board with a few of the riddims that we had. He sent them to Skillibeng, and right away, he chose one and came with this hit song for the ladies, So Phenomenal,” said Lando Genius.
He opined that the hard work that was put behind the track is synonymous with the work that Skillibeng is known for.
“We have been putting in work in the studio because we just don’t want to cheat the music. Skillibeng is an international talent, and as such, we wanted to deal with the production in the same vein. He has always aimed high, and we are continuing that culture,” he said.
St Thomas native Skillibeng is known for the hits Whap Whap and last year’s global hit Shake it to the Max (Fly) remix, a collaboration with Moliy, Silent Addy, and Shenseea. Gutty Bling, who is no stranger to hits, has had chart success with artistes such as Stylex, Gully Bop, and Mavado.
Lando Genius has been in music production for close to eight years. He has worked with various artistes. His juggling project, ‘Disco Meets Dancehall’ rhythm, featured songs by artistes including Bounty Killer, D’Yani, and EscoDaShocker. Another project, the ‘Jam Again’ rhythm, has songs by Tanya Stephens, Marcia Griffiths, Nadine Sutherland and I-Octane.
