Tomorrow’s $2-million Christopher “Chris” Armond Memorial Sprint Trophy is set to be an exciting event with five talented horses competing in the 5½ furlong (1,100m) Graded Stakes/Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward.
Below, the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide provides in-depth analysis of each runner’s strengths and weaknesses.

PACK PLAYS (USA): (4 dk b/br c by Stay Thirsty – Standard Deal) – Finished sixth in the Mouttet Mile (8 furlongs/1,600m) on December 6 after up in the pace for the first part of the race. Pack Plays should be better off at this distance and, given his speed, he should be on the premises when the race is being decided.

LEGACY ISLE (USA): (5 b h by Shackleford – Queenameina) – A strong contender with a high winning probability, given his impressive record and recent performances, including a second-place finish in the Mouttet Mile.

DOTHRAKI (USA): (4 b c by Into Mischief – Vanquished) – Has not quite lived up to early expectations, finishing last of 15 runners in the recent Mouttet Mile. Dothraki is unlikely to win, but could make a presence felt.

CALIFORNIA CROWN : (4 b c by Hedge Fund – Dream Big) – No winning chance.

DESERT OF MALIBU (USA): (6 ch m by Malibu Moon – Lady Digger) – Finished third behind the talented Of a Revolution in the Bruceontheloose Sprint on December 6 over 6½ furlongs (1,100m). Desert of Malibu, based on class and talent, is expected to fight out the finish.
