Dancehall artiste Nakiaa believes that his latest single, Call Back, resonates with the public because almost everyone has experienced love or loss at some point in their life.
“Some people say the song Call Back makes them think about the love that they lost, you know, so I’ve got a lot of good feedback. I wouldn’t say that that’s my biggest hit at the moment but the fans definitely believe it is one of my biggest,” Nakiaa said. The song has received rave reviews from online bloggers and TikTok users.
Nakiaa has carved out a reputation in the industry for his ability to blend smooth vocal control and emotional storytelling with an aggressive edge. On Call Back, he showcases his ability to stretch emotion across melody and he bleeds all over this juicy track.
“Once I heard the beat, I was like I’ll just let all my emotions out on it. I’ve been getting a lot of good feedback; people telling me they love the song. People tell me they cry to the song,” he said.
Nakiaa’s music lives at the intersection of vulnerability and ambition – where pain meets hunger and melody meets power. Born in Montego Bay, St James, Nakiaa was raised in Portland. Growing up, surrounded by rich musical culture and the pulse of dancehall and reggae, he developed a style that honours his roots while pushing beyond traditional boundaries. He said his stage name was directly influenced by his Christian name.
“I got the name Nakia (his given first name) from my mom. She said that when she was a kid, she knew somebody who was always happy. And she told herself that when she has a kid, she was gonna give him the same name the person had,” he explained.
Nakiaa has built his artistry around themes of ambition, pressure, loyalty, love, and survival. He isn’t chasing trends – he’s building identity.
“My sound is not accidental. It’s calculated, emotional, and driven by a belief that failure isn’t final. It’s fuel to achieve great things,” he said.
