Paying homage to the man who took reggae music to the four corners of the earth, multi-Grammy nominated singer Skip Marley has created his own version of the Wailers’ classic One Love.

In honouring his grandfather Bob Marley, and his legacy, Skip’s rendition bridges the generational gap through both the music and the message. The song, which is produced by Salaam Remi, is being released via Tuff Gong International/Def Jam Recordings, while the accompanying video was filmed at the Bob Marley Museum and Tuff Gong Studios. Recognised as a timeless anthem for peace and unity, the song was regarded as the Song of the Millennium by the British Broadcasting Corporation in 1999.

The son of Cedella Marley, Skip grew into the legacy of his musical family and taught himself to play the piano, drums, guitar, and bass. In 2015, he joined the family business and released two singles, Cry to Me and Life, under the Tuff Gong Label. The honing of his craft occurred shortly after, as he toured with his uncles Damian and Stephen Marley on their ‘Catch a Fire’ tour.

One Love is inspired by and released in celebration of the Adidas X Bob Marley Foundation capsule collection. For Skip, no two things bring people together like sports and music.

“Football and music, both languages of unity, run deep in Jamaican culture. One Love has always belonged to the people. My grandfather’s music continues to uplift and inspire people to stand for something greater than themselves. That message still moves the world today. Reimagining the song for the Adidas x Bob Marley Collection is a full-circle moment for my family. It is honouring my grandfather’s legacy while connecting music, football, and culture in a way that feels true to who we are,” he said.

This 2026 version features Skip’s delivery with reverence to the powerful message the lyrics convey. The music is delivered alongside the Adidas Bob Marley Collection, which is an eight-piece apparel range designed for players and fans alike. Created in close collaboration with the Bob Marley Foundation, the collection draws from archival photographs and historically significant garments worn by the legendary artiste himself.
