In a world quick to define women by ‘proximity’, Taveionn Telfer is quietly rewriting the narrative.

Yes, she is the mother of dancehall artiste Skillibeng’s son — but that detail sits only on the edge of her story, not at its centre. She is a creative carving her own lane, one stitch at a time. Known to many through her vibrant YouTube presence and striking social media style, Telfer is now turning that visual language into something tangible: a swimwear line.

As she tells it, the journey toward fashion began long before the cameras or curated posts.

“I don’t think there was ever one grand moment that I realised I ‘had an eye for fashion,'” she said. “My parents were fashion icons in my parish growing up, and my mom would use every chance she got to do the most when it came to my outfits. Ever since I was a child, even though I didn’t know yet, I had a passion for it. I was always intrigued.”

But for years, she moved from interest to interest, trying different things but never sticking to any one thing.

“It wasn’t because I didn’t enjoy whatever I tried — I just got bored easily,” she explained. That eventually led her to a turning point she describes simply as her “rock bottom moment”. She returned to her home town, stepped away from the outside world, and confronted the noise that had been clouding her sense of self.

“I did the work I needed to do to heal my mind,” she recalled. “While doing this, I started feeling like myself again… I learned myself so well, I became confident in my decisions and started to trust myself and God again.”

In that stillness, clarity arrived. One night last May, she was writing in her journal, trying to be as honest as possible.

“By the end of it, I knew I needed my own clothing line,” she said. “This was the one thing I could do that would need me to pool all my many skills together to create something magical.”

That vision has since taken shape in Alien studios, her debut swimwear brand, which is an extension of both her personal style and the confidence she hopes to inspire in others. Early reactions online suggest she is already striking the right chord.

“Honestly, I’m blown away by all the love and support I’m receiving. My audience is clearly hyped and they’re eager for more… they’re looking for inclusivity; plus sizes, monokinis, you name it. We’re cooking up all sorts of goodies, and swimsuits are just the beginning,” she said. “At the heart of Alienstudios is a celebration of boldness. It’s for the women who don’t just make waves, they crash them. Our designs are for bodies that break norms and minds that shatter expectations.”

With the brand’s official website set to launch on Thursday, Telfer is already thinking expansion, collaborations, and new product lines.
