Dancehall is getting a fresh injection of melody and energy with Mind Games, the latest single from emerging singer and songwriter Lavisch, released through Ricco Records, the label headed by producer Rick Foster, professionally known as Ricco Diplomats.

The track rides the Mercy Lap rhythm, with Ricco Records joining forces with Emoji Records, Black Satin Music and Team Upgrade Music for the project. Team Upgrade Music is responsible for the rhythm’s infectious instrumental, which also features dancehall star Valiant among the artistes voicing the riddim.

For Lavisch, Mind Games marks another chapter in a musical journey that began in Waterhouse, Kingston. Born Brittney Marshall, the singer developed a love for reggae and dancehall from an early age and began performing when she was just 10.

A former Kingston Technical High School student, Lavisch has carved out a niche with her melodic, conscious and relatable “message music”, using her songs to connect with listeners and tell stories drawn from everyday experiences.

She first attracted attention with Good Friends Hard to Find, produced by Ugandan producer Kaz. She later teamed up with European production outfit Jugglers Records for Irresponsible and its official music video. Her growing catalogue also includes Dealings, Burn and Let Them Change.
