Larris Allen reaches 500th career win in Canada…Oshane Nugent continues to make progress

Talented two-year-old American-bred bay colt Sir Don returns for his second race on local soil in tomorrow’s $1.09-million Princess Popstar Trophy at 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m). The race is a Restricted Allowance I contest for native-bred and imported two-year-olds and has attracted a field of six runners.

The Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide analyses the runners and their chances of winning.

1) TIA MARIA: (2 ch f by Bold Conquest – Zacapa) — Has shown promise with two solid finishes, including a close fourth and third. Given her past performance, she is expected to do well.

2) GOD’S PLAN: (2 ch c by Aveenu Malcainu – Fearless Abi) God’s Plan won his debut on September 13, showing grit and determination. With Sir Don in the field, God’s Plan could finish second.

3) INFINITY STAR (USA): (2 b f by Greenpointcrusader – Batmitzvah) – Not expected to win, but could still can run a decent race.

4) SIR DON (USA): (2 b c by Spun To Run – Enarmored) — Sir Don’s dominant debut win over four furlongs in 46.4 seconds was impressive. His morning gallops suggest he’s in top form, making him the clear favourite for this race. With his speed and class, he’s likely to lead the field and win comfortably.

5) BRODY’S UNITY: (USA) (2 b c by Brody’s Cause – Bagatelle Park) — No real chance of winning.

6) COMUNA TRECE: (USA) (2 b c by Maximum Security – My Anguilla) — Ran second to Sir Don previously, and with the same rival present, another runner-up finish might be the best outcome.
