Recording artiste Inpha Reblitive is showing a more personal side of himself with his single State of Mind.
It draws from a period in his life when the simple question, “Are you alright?” was much harder to answer than it seemed. The song explores the struggles people often carry privately, even while appearing to those around them as though everything is fine. For Inpha Reblitive, that message comes directly from experience. During the COVID period, the artiste found himself dealing with mounting pressure as revenue from his business came to a halt while the responsibility of providing for himself and his family remained.
“I had to bottle up everything as if everything was good, even though a lot of people were asking if I was alright,” he said.
Those experiences eventually helped shape State of Mind and also changed his perspective on the people around him and how much support someone can truly expect when going through difficult times.
“I knew what I was relating to was something that exists among a lot of people,” Inpha Reblitive explained. “I wanted people to be able to relate to the song and also get a sense of who I am as a human being.”
Produced by 343 Muzik, State of Mind reflects the direction Inpha Reblitive said he is taking with his music — tackling relatable subjects while drawing more from his own experiences. He recalls the recording session as particularly meaningful, calling it productive and fulfilling.
“I could feel the goosebumps as everything was coming from a pure place,” he said.
The accompanying music video, which was shot and directed by PatoKreationz, was released on July 29. Its visuals capture the solitude and deep reflection associated with the situations explored in the record. The video has since surpassed 500,000 views. Inpha Reblitive said the response has also extended to TikTok, where listeners have been sharing their own experiences and relating them to the message of the song. For the artiste, that connection is important.
Having faced his own challenges throughout his upbringing and adult life, he says his current focus is on creating music that people can see themselves in while continuing to demonstrate the versatility he believes sets him apart. With State of Mind, he hopes listeners will not only connect with the record but become interested in discovering more of his catalogue.
Inpha Reblitive and his team are also working on new material with producers including DJ Kunteh, ChuckStar, Redmond Records and 343 Muzik, as he continues exploring different sides of his sound. He is also currently working on an EP.
