Two entertainers from different parishes have combined their talents for the collaboration titled Party Hard.
Clarendon’s Kumpliment and St Ann’s Qrush joined forces for the high-energy track, which was released on August 14. The song, released by Brown Team Records and produced by DJ Lux, celebrates nightlife, good vibes, and the carefree spirit of partying. As its title suggests, it delivers an upbeat dancehall experience aimed squarely at partygoers and music lovers looking for a soundtrack to their next big outing.
The accompanying music video, which was filmed in Ocho Rios, St Ann, provides the backdrop for the visual presentation of Party Hard, complementing the song’s festive theme and energetic sound. DJ Lux spoke about working with the artistes on the track.
“For me; it has always been easy to work with artistes because I create a conducive working environment. That’s the key to having good chemistry with people. Working with Kumpliment and Qrush was no different; the workflow was fluent. They are talented artistes, so that makes the work even easier,” said DJ Lux, who has worked with artistes such as Vybz Kartel, Shawn Storm, Da’Ville, Chronic Law and Teejay.
The producer, whose most recent production is Itch Scratch by Shawn Storm, has been in music production since 2013. He started his own label in 2017.
For Kumpliment, the inspiration behind Party Hard came from simply hearing the beat.
“DJ Lux made the beat and then ideas started coming about due to the vibe of the riddim. DJ Lux played a big role in formulating the lyrics as well,” he said, while sharing how the collaboration with Qrush came about.
“We met each other at a party and I found out that he is an artiste as well. So we decided to do a project together. Working with Qrush was easy because he’s a fantastic artiste, so everything went as planned.”
