Up-and-coming dancehall artiste Trinni is steadily carving out her space in the local music scene with a fearless sound and a clear message of female empowerment.
Born Samantha Carter and raised in Lowe River, southern Trelawny, the self-proclaimed “South Side Baddest” credits her upbringing for shaping both her artistry and confidence. Raised in a Christian home, Trinni was exposed early to gospel, reggae and dancehall, influences that helped guide her musical journey.
“I’ve always been captivated by how melodies can evoke emotions and tell stories,” Trinni said. She officially entered the music industry in 2022 with her debut single Stay Solid, a reggae-dancehall track produced by Paul Patmore of PP Productions. The release marked the beginning of her commitment to music that blends strong rhythms with meaningful messages.
Trinni’s most recent single, Bad Gal Trinni, featuring legendary selector Pink Panther Di General, has been gaining traction among dancehall fans because of its high energy and unapologetic confidence.
” Bad Gal Trinni is really about owning who you are and not being afraid to show your strength as a woman,” she explained. “I wanted it to feel powerful and energetic so girls can listen to it and feel confident about themselves.”
Musically, Trinni blends hardcore dancehall with elements of reggae, R&B and electronic music. Her lyrics consistently focus on themes of self-empowerment, independence and personal growth, positioning her as a voice for women embracing their strength and individuality.
